Dear Clive,
Now that the project at 51 Martingale Rd has been completed, we should like
to thank you and your team for the beautiful home you have built us. As we
are beginning to settle in a little more each day, we appreciate the great
care that was taken to provide high-class finishes throughout. A lot of
attention was paid to detail and we can only say that we are grateful for
the total co-operation at all times, especially since we were still resident
in Johannesburg during the building process.
Constant interaction and regular get-togethers on the site ensured a minimum
of misunderstandings and these were attended to and rectified without delay
by you and your team. Paul Micklewood, the project manager, deserves much
praise as he was always there when needed, organizing the trades and
subcontractors and never showing a single sign of stress or strain in our
presence. Nothing was ever too much trouble, also not for the subcontractors
and we wish to thank them for their co-operation and hard work. On 22nd
December 2004 the heavens opened and Knysna was flooded. More rain fell in a
few hours than had ever before since record-keeping was introduced in the
late 1800s (almost 200mm in 6 hours). Our brand-new roof stood up to the
test and so did the rest of the house. That in itself is quite a feat and
since then we feel especially good about the structure.
Should this fussy German with the built-in spirit level have proved to be an
irritation at times, we apologize but can truly say that for us Clico
Construction has taken the fear out of building and hence we plan to go
ahead together with another project as soon as possible.
